This weekend I had the opportunity to detail a Toyota Prius in Columbus Ohio. The exterior was in pretty good shape but the interior had seen better days. The owner is a construction worker and although he was a very nice guy, his car’s interior was in a less than happy mood. One section of the car, the drivers side armrest, was very dirty and stained from a few years neglect.
This is my go to product for general cleaning of the interior. I was afraid to use the vapor steamer with the armrest because I was afraid that the steam would break the glue away from the base of the armrest and the material, causing the material to become loose. So I used some Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner, diluted 10 to 1.
I was not shy about spraying the cleaner on the dirty armrest. After letting it soak for a few minutes, I gently used a microfiber towel and scrubbed the armrest. Like how I said “gently” and “scrubbed?” Lol! After about 45 seconds of “scrubbing” I then used a another clean microfiber towel to buff away the loose dirt.
Finished product! One can still see a little bit of wear from the years of abuse, but myself and the owner of the Toyota was very happy with the end result. What do you think? The Meguiars Professional series products are amazing, and once again the product paved the way….
